A Roast For Rita

A middle-aged housewife is haunted by a dying cow.

Contains Queer sex :D. Also, you'll need to somehow render a blood-soaked, wailing cow. Good luck with that.

Angel

A teenage girl must display kindness to a toxic friend.

You'll need fake blood, a beautiful ring, a box full of vintage clothes, an attic, a kitchen, a skate park, a bridge over a river, and at least 7 actors (1 adult, 6 teenagers).

Bath Bubbles

A closeted woman just wants to have a relaxing bath and get a good night's sleep, but the pressures of the outside world and her repressed emotional issues invade her private happy place.

You'll need a bubble bath, an office space, a performance space with a stage, a good number of extras with lots of lovely costumes, three main actors (all women) and a really excellent DoP.

Gemma's Date

A woman seeks gory revenge on the sleazebag responsible for her best friend's death.

Takes place in an office space, a restaurant, a street, and a family home. 6 actors required. Good old-fashioned suspense and gore.
Contains references to sexual assault and suicide.

Things Change

A hectic mother takes a breath.

This is a one-page, viral short taking place in a kitchen. Very easy to produce, and lots of opportunity for experimental lighting. I personally feel its message is très au courant. I can see this being a stylish piece of work and a real boon to showreels.

The Nightmare

A dreaming man is running away from himself.

This script calls for one very economical SFX shot. The protagonist dreams of himself as a surgeon who slices into his sleeping stomach and releases his own screaming face from within his belly.
I tried to make it myself but gave up because the prosthetics I made were... unsuccessful.
1 actor, some woodland, a bedroom with a wardrobe, a prosthetic belly with prosthetic bloody flesh, and a surgeon's outfit required.

Old Gum

A boy chews his gum for way too long.

This requires a classroom and then a playground full of children, a teacher, a mum, a sister, their living room, their bathroom, and the boy.

Also SFX of a gum alien crawling from the boy's mouth and out the window.

This would be a great project with a school. The story and language are totally child-friendly. Unusual for me, but I wanted to try it. Range.
